The Phare Vert Station is strengthening its environmental commitment with the installation of InvisiBubble, the first oil containment bubble barrier deployed in France. This innovative technology effectively limits the spread of accidental pollution while preserving the marine ecosystem of the Port of Saint-Tropez.
This installation positions the Port of Saint-Tropez among the leading ports in the field of marine environmental protection.

The system consists of a network of submerged pipes supplied with compressed air, which generate a continuous curtain of bubbles between the bottom and the surface of the water. In the event of an accidental fuel or oil spill during refueling, this invisible barrier is activated to limit the spread of hydrocarbons and contain them within a controlled area. The motion created by the bubbles then helps them to concentrate and recover.

This system, which is environmentally friendly to marine flora and fauna, energy-efficient, and has no impact on navigation, is fully in line with the Port of Saint-Tropez’s commitment to preserving biodiversity and reducing marine pollution.

In an effort to minimize the environmental impact of water sports, Mathieu, one of the owners, has developed a patented innovation that is currently being brought to market. This invention addresses a common problem encountered when refueling boats.

When refueling, the vent that connects the tank to the outside air may allow fuel to escape. When the tank reaches its maximum capacity, the pressure causes the diesel fuel to rise up the fill pipe, triggering the automatic shut-off of the nozzle. The excess fuel then escapes through the vent and spills directly into the marine environment, causing what is known as passive pollution.

To prevent this risk, Mathieu designed and patented a simple and effective device: a small collection bag equipped with a spout. Using a suction cup system, it attaches to the bottom of the vent during refueling and collects any fuel that might escape. The recovered fuel can then be returned directly to the tank, thereby preventing any release into the environment. This innovation demonstrates the company's commitment to protecting the marine environment and reducing the risk of pollution associated with routine navigation operations.
